In the interest of consistency and safety, The Kurt Caselli Foundation, with the help of many desert racing clubs and racers of all skill levels, has developed a Course Marking Guide. 

The Kurt Caselli Foundations recommends using neon orange cards for the youth course in a 3-2-1 countdown for turns based off of severity. We also highly recommend marking with flagging ribbon anywhere you mark cards in case cards are taken away by weather.
